Understanding the Divine Purpose

Why God Allows Rejection in Our Lives

Oftentimes our trauma is caused by making wrong choices, other times it’s just a result of living in a falling world. However, our adversary, Satan, wants us to believe that our trauma is because God is punishing us.

God doesn’t cause our trauma, but He will allow it, not to harm us, but to teach us something. Even though it hurts him to see us in pain, His purpose for it is necessary.

Imagine how God's heart broke while watching His son die. His pain was superseded by His divine purpose.

Could He have stopped the execution? Yes. But His glory wouldn’t have been revealed.

God’s glory can be revealed out of our pain, but not without our cooperation. We have to be willing to submit to His divine plan. Once He has our cooperation, He’ll do whatever it takes to accomplish His divine purpose.

As a result, the trauma will remain as long as God sees fit. He will challenge us beyond our comfort zone. God will stretch us to test our Christian integrity.

We may then become frustrated, angry, and become filled with self-pity, bitterness, and even rebellion. However, God will prolong the discomfort for as long as it takes.

Not to harm us, but to get something out of us. And, once our pain reaches a pinnacle, and we've reached the end of ourselves, He stands there, patiently waiting for us to crawl back to Him in humble submission.

It may not seem like it, but God is merely orchestrating something for our good. He wants us to realize that He was there with us the entire time, holding our hands during the trauma. Once we’re on the other side of the pain, we’ll realize that His divine purpose was wrapped up in our trauma. And that trauma was attached to our respective destinies.

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds." Psalms 147: 3

Prayer: Dear Father God, we know your Word states that you will bind up our wounds, but sometimes we become discouraged and grieve too long about our trials. Help us to lay our pain at your feet and allow you to teach the lessons you desire us to learn. Allow us to see that adversity can be part of your divine plan, so help us to let your will be done in our lives. Amen.
