  • New here? Great! Then, I'd like to extend a hearty welcome and thank you for stopping by the Revelations of Grace blog. My name is Charlene, and I'm a Christian who's dedicated to sharing the "good news" as the Bible has commissioned us to. I've been on a journey of learning about God's grace toward me, and I strive to acknowledge His agape love in small things.

One day, I asked God, "Why do you care for me so profoundly when I tend to fall short of your holy standards and expectations? And, at that moment, He revealed that he had extended grace to me, hence the title of this blog, Revelations of Grace.

This site is an online, faith-based devotional blog dedicated to sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ, our Savior, Redeemer, source of strength, and grace-giver. In this world of turmoil and chaos, people search for peace because their hearts are empty and unfulfilled. Why? Because the missing link in their lives is Jesus Christ—the only one who can fill the emptiness of the human soul and shower the heart with joy and peace.

The primary purpose of this site is to share the good news—the gospel of Jesus Christ, connect with others for fellowship, and collectively fulfill the mission of spreading the Word of God. This blog will post Bible verses, short devotions, quotes, and personal testimonies.

Revelations of Grace is on a mission to uplift, encourage, inspire, and glorify our God, our Heavenly Father, by revealing our Lord and Savior's redemption, love, grace, and mercy, and be a guiding light in a dark world. As followers of Jesus Christ, we will spread the message of salvation to ensure that lost souls are led to true repentance and receive the gift of salvation.

You will discover short devotions, uplifting scripture verses, and personal testimonies at Revelations of Grace. If this appeals to you, then journey with us in carrying out the great commission of spreading the good news—the gospel of Jesus Christ. When not blogging, I read e-books, visit libraries, and create faith-based, inspirational YouTube videos.

  • Does Sinful Competition Stem From the Roots of Insecurity and Inadequacy?

If you’re struggling with feelings of insecurity and inadequacy, you may tend to compare yourself to others. By gauging the progress of others, you’ll feel pressured to outshine them to prove that you’re just as good or better than them.

Sinful competition is a self-destructive action because it distracts you from focusing on and developing your talents and skills.

If it’s not dealt with, you’ll fall into the trap of envy, which will fuel your desire to compete with others.

Furthermore, it will lead to a state of discontentment and ingratitude for the God-given you already possess. You’ll remain in an unending pattern of exerting energy to beat out the competition.

Once you’ve come to the end of yourself and experienced the discomfort of burnout, you’ll realize you’ve arrived at a dead-end street. The need to prove yourself and impress others will then become insignificant.

Find out more about the negative effects of sinful competition in the following YouTube video presentation.
